Key Community is once again delivering holiday activities and food support to ensure eligible children and young people stay fed and entertained during the six weeks of the school summer holiday.
The charity will provide free activities and nutritious meals for children and young people in the borough aged 5-16 (Reception to Year 11) who are eligible for benefits related free school meals and young people with additional needs up to the age of 18 are also eligible.
This summer’s sizzling offer includes the exciting addition of day trips by coach, to two of the region’s leading tourism destinations, The Alnwick Garden and Washington Wetland Centre.
Activities and food provision will take place on selected days over the 6-week holidays (22 Jul – 3 Sept) – booking details below.

Coach Trip to The Alnwick Garden – Wednesday 26 July
Created by the Duchess of Northumberland, The Alnwick Garden is a delight; a modern garden combining sculpture, water features, and beautiful plants to create a wonderful family attraction. The Garden features the largest collection of European plants in the UK and the largest Japanese Cherry Orchard in the World. This is a beautiful garden for families to explore, play and relax (NB entry to Lilidorei and Alnwick Castle NOT included). All children will receive a healthy packed lunch.

How to book
There are a limited number of places available; please register your interest in attending (below) by dropping Key to Life’s Facebook page a DM by midday on Wed 19 July. We will contact those who have successfully secured a place to confirm by Mon 24 July.

- All children/young people must be accompanied by an adult parent/guardian for the duration of the session (tickets need only be booked for children)
- Please let us know if any children/young people have any dietary requirements or allergies, or any special educational needs or disabilities
- If, after booking, you can no longer attend, please call us on 07833 613 393 so we can offer your place(s) to another family
- Photography and videos may be taken at this event some for marketing and press purposes. If you do not want your child to be photographed, please make the activity provider aware on arrival. GDPR consent forms will also be handed out at events to gain permissions from parents who are happy for their children to be photographed.

Coach Trip to WWT Washington Wetland Centre – Friday 25 August
Come join the fun and get close to wetland wildlife on our day trip to WWT Washington Wetlands Centre! There will be something for everyone to enjoy, with pond dipping, den building, otter and flamingo feeds included on our itinerary. All children will receive a healthy packed lunch.
