KEY2Life Foodbank is once again joining forces with South Tyneside Council to deliver the Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) and Spring Holiday Club to make sure families stay fed and entertained over the Easter holidays.
There are free activities and nutritious meals available during the holidays, excluding bank holidays, for children and young people in South Tyneside (age 5-16) who are eligible for benefits related free school meals or who are part of a family currently experiencing hardship.
KEY2Life will be providing FREE family food packs which can be requested by firstly completing the online referral form, then following up by giving the foodbank a call on 07833613393 or getting in touch by DM to their Facebook page.
The ‘egg-cellent easter’ food packs will consist of a ‘recipe box’ of 4 nutritious and quick meals to make, enough to cater for 4 people, along with recipe cards (which you can also download below) to follow; plus a few essential staples and a couple of treats on top.
To ensure that children of struggling families get the same opportunities as everyone else, KEY2Life will also be providing some extra holiday fun to keep the kids entertained. Included with the food packs will be an FREE Easter basket craft kit along with chocolate eggs to create your own egg hunt (Week 1 only & while stocks last) plus a scavenger trail to complete out and about to encourage families to make the most of our stunning local parks and beautiful beaches over the holidays.
