With a professional background spanning the civil service, procurement and community development, Jo plays a central role in strengtheining Key’s position as a community champion and expanding the reach of its essential frontline services.
Since joining Key, Jo has led transformational changes that have reshaped the organisation’s community support infrastructure. She secured new premises to merge two foodbanks and successfully managed the relocation of Key’s foodbank to its Boldon Lane site – a move that has enabled the charity to meet rising levels of need and deliver a more accessible, efficient service for individuals and families experiencing hardship.
Under Jo’s stewardship, Key’s community development programmes have doubled in both number and reach, significantly extending support for children, young people, and vulnerable households across South Tyneside. Her leadership has helped embed Key more deeply within local neighbourhoods, ensuring that practical help, food support, and community‑building initiatives reach those who need them most.
