Penny is a retired teacher and lives in Boldon. She started volunteering at Key, helping out at Flavia House, providing both management support and organizing activities. Her Christmas Dinners were very popular. Penny helps prepare presentations to speak in schools about homelessness. She has been a board member since 2012 and previously served as Deputy Chair before becoming Chair in October 2022.
“I feel very privileged and fortunate with my life and felt I should give something back. Although retired I still feel that I have an important role to play and contribution to make. I like to think I’m making a difference”.
