Penny is a retired teacher from Boldon who has been volunteering with Key for many years. She began by supporting Flavia House, providing management assistance and organising activities – including her very popular Christmas Dinners – and preparing presentations for schools to raise awareness about homelessness.
She has been a board member since 2012, previously serving as Deputy Chair before becoming Chair in October 2022.
“I feel very privileged and fortunate with my life and felt I should give something back. Although retired, I still feel I have an important role to play and contribution to make. I like to think I’m making a difference.”
