What we do

For over 30 years, Key’s provided a range of housing advice, support and accommodation services to young people at risk of homelessness, and their families, and helped local people experiencing hardship.

Key Homes

Key provides young people at risk of homelessness in South Tyneside with a safe and stable place to call home while they receive bespoke support to move forward to independence and to achieve their potential.

Key Wellbeing

Supporting people to achieve positive mental health outcomes is fundamental to the success and sustainability of our work.

Key Support

We measure our impact by seeing our young people thrive and succeed in their lives. Our goal is to unlock their potential and prepare them to live independently so they no longer require our support.

Key Prevention

Family relationship breakdown is the main cause of youth homelessness. Key aims to keep families together wherever safely possible and offers a range of support to young people and their families.

Key to Life Foodbank

Key to Life is a vast operation providing emergency food and support to people in crisis and championing hard pressed local families.

Key Community Bus

With an ethos of reducing food waste, promoting healthy, affordable food and offering advice on related issues, we drive into the heart of our communities to help local people thrive.

“I wouldn’t be where I am today without Key. They've supported me in so many ways. They’ve taught me how to be self-sufficient, helped me to rebuild relationships, work on my self-esteem, get a job and move into my own flat."
